A research-supported approach for treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, and trauma
For those living with depression, anxiety, PTSD, or other conditions that have not responded fully to traditional therapy or medications, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) may offer a new path forward.
KAP combines the therapeutic use of ketamine—a medication shown in research to create rapid shifts in mood and perspective—with the support of psychotherapy. In a safe and guided setting, clients often experience increased openness, insight, and the ability to process emotions in new ways.
Before beginning KAP, we’ll first make sure this approach is the right fit for you. This includes reviewing your history, current symptoms, and treatment goals, as well as collaborating with our medical partner for a full medical evaluation.
Medical Partnership – I partner with Journey Clinical, a medical provider specializing in ketamine treatment. Journey Clinical conducts your medical intake, prescribes the medication if appropriate, and manages ongoing medical follow-up.
Preparation – Once cleared, we’ll meet to clarify your intentions, discuss what to expect, and prepare you for the session.
Ketamine Sessions – Dosing sessions take place either in my office or virtually, depending on your needs. During the experience, I provide therapeutic support, grounding, and a safe space for whatever arises.
Integration – Afterward, we’ll process your experience together. Integration sessions help you make meaning of what emerged and translate insights into lasting, sustainable change.
KAP is not a quick fix or a miracle pill. Instead, it serves as a catalyst for growth when paired with compassionate, structured psychotherapy.
Treatment-resistant depression
Anxiety disorders
PTSD and trauma-related conditions
Grief and loss
Emotional numbness or disconnection
Existential or spiritual distress
I approach KAP with the same relational, integrative, and client-centered philosophy that guides all of my work. My role is to help you prepare for the experience, accompany you through it with presence and care, and support you in weaving the insights back into your daily life.
The focus is always on building resilience, fostering balance, and creating sustainable growth beyond the session itself.
Please note: Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy at Iterations Counseling does not include medical intake, prescribing of medication, or medical follow-up appointments.
These services are provided exclusively through Journey Clinical, our trusted medical partner. My role is to guide the therapeutic process of preparation, dosing support, and integration once medication has been prescribed.
At this time, insurance does not cover KAP-guided sessions. Sessions are billed directly, and I’m happy to discuss costs and options during your consultation.

What makes KAP different from taking ketamine alone?
Research shows that ketamine treatment tends to be more effective when combined with psychotherapy than when used on its own. While ketamine can temporarily shift mood and open access to new perspectives, it is through integration therapy that these insights are supported, reinforced, and connected to your everyday life.
In KAP, the dosing session is only one part of the process. The preparation helps you set intentions, the ketamine experience allows for new emotional and cognitive flexibility, and integration sessions help translate those experiences into lasting growth and resilience.
